ZERØ is a leading authority on sustainability and decarbonization in sport and outdoor industries.
We are a research-driven consulting practice built specifically for sport and outdoor organizations. Our team brings together academic rigour, applied industry experience, and deep sectoral knowledge to deliver sustainability strategies that are built to be implemented, adopted, and measured. We do not hand over a report and walk away. We build the conditions that make the work stick.
Our Approach
Evidence-based strategy. Hands-on implementation.
Most sustainability initiatives stall not because the strategy is wrong, but because the structural, cultural, and behavioural conditions needed to support them were never built. Our work is grounded in support for exactly those conditions. We understand why organizations and individuals resist change, what removes those barriers, and how to build education, communications, and policy frameworks that shift behaviour in practice, not just on paper.
That understanding comes from over a decade of applied research, industry collaboration, and direct consulting experience in sport and outdoor contexts. It informs every engagement we undertake.
Research and Expertise
Academic depth applied to real organizational challenges.
Our work is informed by peer-reviewed research into environmental communication, sustainability transitions, and decarbonization strategy within sport and outdoor industries. We examine how organizations construct and communicate their relationship with the environment, why those approaches so often fail to drive meaningful behaviour change, and what evidence-based alternatives look like in practice.
This research has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals and presented at national conferences, contributing to the growing body of knowledge on sustainability leadership in sport. It ensures the strategies we build are grounded in evidence, not assumption.
